With over 12 years in business, Jenny Martin Design has assembled a team at the pinnacle of their field in Western Canada. Home to the largest interior design team on Vancouver Island, Jenny Martin Design is capable of encompassing all facets of design – architectural design, interior design, project management, and the hand selection of furnishings and home décor. Jenny Martin, Founder & Principal Designer
Jenny Martin believes that every space tells a story, and she’s spent her life’s work helping people create authentic connections to their homes. After growing up in an artistic family and spending a lifetime in the design industry, she created Jenny Martin Design in 2008 with a mission to create effortlessly functional spaces that will last a lifetime.
Armed with a discerning and detail-oriented team, Jenny fuses utility with beauty, simplicity with elegance, and quality with function. Her beautiful spaces have earned her team recognition throughout the Pacific Northwest. In 2012 Jenny was awarded Western Living’s “One to Watch”, and she and her team have continued to receive accolades for their elegant, enduring homes, including a Georgie Award (CHBABC), multiple Care Awards (VRBA), and recognition at the International Design and Architectural Awards in London. Jenny has been an active member of the Victoria Residential Builders Association for 12 years and recently completed a term as President.
Believing we are greater than the sum of our parts, Jenny’s management style allows her business to thrive. Empowering her designers with the confidence and know-how to execute the firm’s vision, she entrusts them to work through the details alongside trades, suppliers, and clients. Her kind and considerate manner and technical know-how not only make her a fantastic leader but a favourite of builders and clients alike.
When she’s not focused on design, Jenny enjoys spending time with her young family exploring and harvesting the treasures of the Pacific West Coast. With a love for food and wine, she takes great joy in preparing West Coast cuisine harvested from land and sea for friends and family.
Julia Estey, Principal Designer
Born and raised in Victoria, Julia has been with Jenny Martin Design since 2013. With a love for the Pacific Northwest, Julia has explored some of the most desirable destinations from Victoria to the Queen Charlottes. Influencing her passion and connection to nature with meticulously planned interiors, her designs set the benchmark for livable luxury.
With a particular fascination towards traditional interiors, she loves to create homes that beautifully reference the tales of its past. Channeling her client’s aesthetic, she has a natural ability to guide their selections, ensuring that their choices fall in line with the design. Not only do her clients respect her honest and forthcoming opinions, but so do her colleagues. The second acting Principal at Jenny Martin Design, Julia’s creativity, focus and commitment makes her a powerhouse of a leader, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her as one of our team leads!
When she’s not at work, Julia can be found exploring the Island with her young family of four, using these experiences to frame the work that she creates. With a knack for finding the beauty in forgotten treasures, she loves to spend her time refinishing old pieces of furniture, restoring them back to their original beauty.
With a passion for creativity, and a love for beautiful interiors, Julia’s talent is unparalleled. With publicly acclaimed projects of Masion de Lee and Sandbanks, she’s one to continue to watch for!
Maria Alvarez, Senior Designer
Maria specializes in high-end luxury residential interiors. Her fashion forward style translates into detail driven interiors with no shortage of drama. Born and raised in Venezuela, she grew up cultivating her spatial awareness and creative side while enjoying time riding horses on the family’s ranch. Her education and personality is one of the reasons why she’s so passionate about her work and not subject to stand down when challenged by a trade not familiar with a particular Installation technique. She draws inspiration from her clients, their stories and their travels often influencing a plethora of endless possibilities. Trained in architecture, Maria excels at coordinating large-scale projects managing countless details between engineers, architects, and developers.

Adrienne Hempstock, Senior Designer
A maximalist at heart, Adrienne’s design aesthetic is a direct representation of her love for bold and considered detail. Prior to joining Jenny Martin Design, she was a CPA who left the accounting world to follow her life long love for interiors. Carrying through a meticulous work ethic some might say she uses both her left and her right brain simultaneously. She completed the interior design program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) while working at House of Bohn in Vancouver. Now, as Senior Designer at Jenny Martin Design, she focuses on custom homes and loves modern eclectic glamour and English heritage. She strives to create timeless styles that are packed with personality.

Alia Marshall, Senior Designer
An adventurous spirit with a passion for travel, Alia is inspired by the world around her. Creating fully bespoke interiors that pay tribute to her global perspective, she continues to bring a worldly and curated perspective to Jenny Martin Design. Having joined the firm with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the Gustavson School of Business and an Interior Design Certification from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, she is force to be reckoned with. Her clients would describe her as methodical, affable, and outgoing. She’s always two steps ahead, committed to the ideal solution and willing to fight for it with a smile. With a passion for both interior decorating and custom design, she continues to build a bespoke portfolio that speaks volumes to the caliber of work she is able to create.

Tiffany Barone, Senior Designer
Tiffany graduated with a degree in Interior Design from the respected Vancouver Island University. She specializes in the selection of custom details and curates the decor for our most discerning clientele. With a structured work ethic, she also works with local developers designing the interiors for luxury high rises. Making a 600sf condo unit feel exclusive is second nature to this creative powerhouse. Her clients include many well respected and successful business owners and developers. They would describe her a creative, patient and committed designer that is always a pleasure to work with. A warrior for implementation of good design, she directs and supervises construction with calming energy.

Ren Roch, Intermediate Designer
Having always had an appreciation for beautiful interiors, Ren knew she wanted to pursue a career in interior design from a young age. Drawn to an eclectic mix of patterns, living finishes, and curated collectables, she would describe her design style as casual, yet coveted. Having graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from Vancouver Island University, Ren kick-started her career in the commercial field, developing strong foundational skills in architectural detailing and construction methods. Executing highly customized interiors, both beautiful, functional and perfectly tailored, Ren has continued to bring a refreshed perspective to the Intermediate team, and won’t hesitate to go the extra mile for both colleagues and clients.
Mikayla Hodgson, Marketing & Studio Coordinator
The first point of contact for clients coming into the office, Mikayla is our Studio Coordinator. Performing administrative tasks, keeping our social media up to date, communicating with clients, and keeping our office tidy are all part of her daily routine. Having always had a passion for Interior Design, she loves being part of such a creative environment, and can’t wait to continue to learn from such a talented team.
Olivia Ritchie, Controller
A numbers wiz, Olivia is our Office Accountant. Having graduated with a BBA from Camosun, with a Major in Accounting, she is recognized as a problem solver at heart, and loves hunkering down to solve the unsolvable. Born and raised in Victoria, she has a deep rooted appreciation for Vancouver Island, and loves to support local when she can! With a keen eye for those coveted finds, she has an enviable wardrobe, and likes to spend her time sewing, crocheting, baking and cooking! The perfect addition to our team, her optimism is admirable, and she never hesitates to go the extra mile.
