Celosia
A Study in Coastal Light
Celosia was conceived as a warm, beach-inspired interpretation of mid-century modern living. Balancing the rhythm of the West Coast, the interior masterfully balances softness and structure, layering stone, wood, and handcrafted finishes to create a sense of nostalgia and warmth. Shaped by natural materials and thoughtful craftsmanship, Celosia is a home that is both grounded and deeply personal.
At the heart of the home, the expansive Great Room is anchored by a wood-burning STÛV fireplace and wrapped in teak-toned oak, bringing warmth and intimacy to the space. The kitchen was designed as a sculptural focal point, with quartzite wrapping the island and sculpted into a three-side plinth. A concealed hood preserves the clean architectural lines of the interior, while the palladiana floors were broken by hand and thoughtfully placed, creating a surface rich in story and character.
Celosia’s name was inspired by the terracotta breeze blocks in the living room, where they filter light, frame views, and reference architectural elements reminiscent of mid-century estates. White glazed brick, cedar siding, and Fond du Lac stone further reinforce the home’s connection to natural materials, blurring the boundary between indoor and outdoor living.
Designed to reflect the individuality of its owners, the Primary Suites are positioned on opposite sides of the home, each tailored to its occupant. One embraces a softer, more feminine palette, while the other explores deeper, more rugged tones, creating two distinct yet complementary retreats. Layering personality throughout, a concealed record niche is nestled discreetly into the living space, celebrating the homeowner’s love of music.
