Garden Retreat

Harmonizing the old with the new, this iconic retreat, original to the estate, strengthens one’s connection to the outdoors in a design both timeless and tasteful, yet unexpected and playful. 

Nestled on a remote gulf island, this garden cottage was inspired by its surrounding landscape. Showcasing an ethereal palette of bright whites and organic textures, Primrose encourages relaxation, while pops of bold colour mimic the playfulness of the botanical backdrop beyond. 

Paying tribute to the cottage’s rustic roots, we wanted to restore the home’s pastoral exterior by refurbishing the double french doors dressed in rich iron hardware, native to the home. Contrasting the cottage’s aged-vintage quality with a bright and refreshed interior, Primrose captures an updated take on idyllic living. Integrating the outdoors in, the living area showcases an inviting palette of tranquil blues and calming whites, while botanical patterns and organic textures mimic those found in the landscape beyond. With relaxation at the helm, we prioritized the integration of a state-of-the-art massage chair, while an outdoor spa, equipped with a custom outdoor shower, infrared sauna and bespoke changing room, heighten the guest’s sensory experience. 

Meticulously planning every last detail, the custom kitchen showcases a playful take on tradition through the integration of a colourful LaCanche range, while custom linen romans, a coastal shiplap ceiling and burnished bronze lighting highlight key architectural details. Dressing the kitchen’s custom millwork with high-end polished nickel hardware and a classical gooseneck faucet, this space is nothing short of exemplary. 

Timeless and tasteful, yet playful and vibrant, this botanical escape beautifully frames its historic past in a design that will continue to withstand the test of time.
