Tudor Renovation

Rich in history and architectural character, Harcourt Manor is a distinguished Tudor residence originally designed by Jim Grieves. Despite the classic leaded-glass windows, expansive rooms, and enduring craftsmanship that provided a beautiful foundation, layers of theatrical faux finishes had left the interiors feeling dark and disconnected from the home's original spirit. The residence was reimagined to feel lighter, warmer and more authentic, while remaining deeply rooted to its architectural past.

At the heart of the home, the Kitchen was designed as a refined yet highly functional space for cooking, gathering, and entertaining. A sculptural Tadelakt hood brings softness and old-world texture, while a striking Calacatta Fantasy backsplash introduces movement and a quiet sense of drama. Unlacquered brass fixtures by California Faucets and Armac Martin introduce warmth and character, developing a natural patina that will become increasingly beautiful with time.

Throughout the home, expansive rooms were thoughtfully layered to feel more intimate and inviting. Refinished pine floors, leather upholstery, distressed materials, and living finishes create a relaxed sense of permanence, while vintage collectables acquired through the clients' travels bring personality and soul. Durable surfaces were selected to support the rhythm of a home frequently filled with family, friends and dogs, without compromising its sense of elegance.

Celebrating the romance of its Tudor heritage, while embracing the ease of contemporary living, Harcourt Manor feels richly layered and approachable, yet refined and resilient. It is a home shaped by warmth, character, and the beauty of a life well lived.
